Nuovo messaggio di Gillian

Nuovo messaggio di Gillian in cui parla di charity, dei suoi bimbi e del suo nuovo film ''Moby Dick''.

Dear everybody -

I am sitting in the BA Lounge at LAX after a very productive and very short trip to LA. Got to see friends and take meetings and most of all raise a little something for charity - thank you everybody who showed up for that by the way - thank you for showing up and for donating and for buying and for everything related to anything that raises support and most importantly funds for the charities that I support.

I don't know how many of you know this but ANSA is just starting an auction and there are a few well signed XF items up for grabs but also they are in basic need of financial support right now to meet their fiscal responsibilities and so anything you can give would be awesome and go to such a good cause.

So I miss my boys. Five nights is about the limit of what I can do without them and I just can't stand it. On the phone Oscar says ‘Hello My Mommy’ and I just want to eat him up. Eyelashes, toenails, the whole lot. And then there's Felix, blond hair, blue eyes, a bulldozer with a wicked sense of humor even at one. Enough!

Anyhoo so here is LAX and on my way to the welcome drizzle of London before the welcome sunshine of somewhere else and time just flies and flies and I wish I could tell you what I'm doing next but I can't and Oh there was Moby Dick which was so much fun and such a great group of people not least of which was the director Michael Barker who is an angel of a man and Ethan (Hawke) and Charlie (Cox) and then William (Hurt) and oh my Donald Sutherland who I would give my left anything to properly work with again. It was blessed. Well, and cursed but I won't go into that.

And and what else can I say without saying anything at all...

Oh everybody has to see the movie Fish Tank when it comes out.

I wish I could say more but you know this isn't a blog.

That's all for this...year?

G.

25 Sep 2009 06:55 pm

If you’re an X-Files fan, you’ll want to make your way to Los Angeles this November for a special charity event featuring Gillian Anderson (seen here at the recent “The Age of Stupid” event in NY) and executive producer and writer Frank Spotnitz.

The event, which is being run by IBG.Inc.  will feature a moderated Q&A panel with Frank Spotnitz, Gillian Anderson and other TBA members of “The X-Files” team*.

A limited number of VIP tickets, available for $125, can be purchased here beginning September 22, 2009: http://www.ibginc.org/tickets

VIP tickets to the event grant the holder front section seating, in-person autograph with participating panelists and admission to the VIP party (please note that panelists are invited, but not obligated/guaranteed to attend the VIP party).

In addition, “Meet and Greets” with Gillian Anderson will be auctioned on eBay with registration beginning September 22, 2009. “Meet and Greets” with Frank Spotnitz and TBA panelists will also be available for auction in the coming weeks.

Information on general seating ticket availability for the Q&A panel will be available at a later date. Please check the IBG website for more information on ticket availability, event schedule, participating charities and venue details: http://www.ibginc.org/events

Founded in late 2008, IBG established an official non-profit campaign focusing on utilizing the power of philanthropy through the arts to benefit a wide range of charities worldwide. IBG acts as a “fundraiser facilitator” for underfunded and start-up charities that would otherwise struggle with the logistics and costs associated with event fundraising.

Event Details:

Date: November 14, 2009
When: Q&A begins at 2:30pm with pre-event raffle scheduled at 2:15pm.
Tickets: http://www.ibginc.org/tickets

Gillian Anderson, James Gilbert, Donald Sutherland added to MOBY DICK cast...

Popular X-Files actress Gillian Anderson and Nova Scotia actor James Gilbert (The Tudors) are reported to have joined the growing cast of MOBY DICK, being shot in Shelburne and Lunenburg, with water scenes shot in Malta.

Famed homeboy Donald Sutherland is being talked about as the pick for father Mapple, who delivers the passionate sermon from the nautical pulpit at the Whaleman's Chapel (set built on Shelburne waterfront). Sutherland is one of the most seasoned actors working, with almost 300 entries on his IMDB page.

Anderson will play Elizabeth, wife of Caption Ahab (William Hurt) and Gilbert is slated for the role of Steelkilt. Charlie Cox (Stardust, and Raoul Trujillo (In Plain Sight, The Unit) are set as well.

In a wiki site for entertainment figures, Anderson's X-Files character Dana Scully is said to have been Moby Dick by her father when she was a girl. They gave each other nicknames from the book. She called her father Ahab and he called her Starbuck.

Based on Herman Melville's 1851 novel, the miniseries is being produced by Herbert Kloiber's Tele Munchen and is being called the most expensive project in the German company's 40-year history. The budget is clocking at $25 million.

Germany's RTL, Austria's ORF and Robert Halmi's RHI Entertainment have boarded as partners on the project. Further foreign sales of the mini should take place in Cannes during the upcoming Mipcom TV trade show. There is no U.S. deal in place.

Shooting begins in Lunenburg on the east coast of Canada in mid September and continues thereafter in Malta.

The project envisions CGI animation as well as action scenes on the high seas.

The mini will wrap in fall 2010.

"Moby Dick" is produced by Rikolt von Gagern, whose company Gate Film recently produced for Tele Munchen Jack London's "Sea Wolf" with Sebastian Koch, Tim Roth and Neve Campbell.

Also back on board for the screen adaptation of the Melville classic is "Sea Wolf" director Mike Barker and script writer Nigel Williams, who penned the TV series "Elizabeth I."
